Hi! My name is Jane...

My name is Jane. I live in St Louis, Missouri with my husband, our four-year-old son and a menagerie of pets. As a work-at-home-mom I wear many hats including being the administrator of this site, a cord blood banking advocate and also a Baby Signs® Independent Instructor.  

I am amazed at how many parents in St Louis are not even aware of the option to bank their baby’s cord blood and have made it my mission to spread the word. I am a member of Parents Educator Network (PEN), an advocacy group promoting cord blood preservation. My husband and I feel that banking our son’s cord blood has brought our family medical peace-of-mind knowing we have immediate access to these life-saving cells that can potentially be used to treat over 70 different diseases. 

Another passion of mine is the Baby Signs® Program. I am passionate about it because I know the program works! My son learned his first sign at 9 months and by 18 months he knew over 50 signs and was using them in sign and word combined sentences. He was an early speaker and at age three he tested at the level of a 5 to 6 year old in his language development. I feel that my son’s skills are in no small part due to his baby signing experience. In being a Baby Signs® instructor, my goal is to help other families share these same experiences.  

Once I created Mind, Body & Baby to get the word out about cord blood banking and the Baby Signs® Program and I began to network, I realized how many wonderful people there are in the St Louis and surround area that have amazing companies and services catering to the needs of babies and parents. The purpose of my website is not only to make St Louis parents aware of cord blood banking and the Baby Signs® Program, but to also connect them with many of the unique service providers we have in our community.
