Hi! My name is Jane...

My name is Jane. I live in St Louis, Missouri with my husband, our three-year-old son and a menagerie of pets. I feel becoming a mom was my destiny and while it certainly has presented a number of never ending challenges, the rewards are awesome!

While I was pregnant, I read every parenting book that I could get my hands on, but never read anything about cord blood banking. I am forever grateful to my cousin for introducing me to the idea of banking my baby's cord blood. If he had not casually mentioned that they had done so with their son, I might have never known about it and missed the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to do the same for my son. This precious cord blood can potentially be used to treat over 40 different diseases... diseases that our son has a 1 in 100 chance of getting. My husband and I feel that banking our son's cord blood has brought our family medical peace-of-mind.

I have since become a passionate member of an advocacy group called Mothers Circle. Our goal is to educate expecting parents about the value of cord blood preservation. I am amazed at how many parents in St Louis are not even aware of the option and have made it my mission to spread the word.
